What Happened at the First Portal Panel

Last week, we sat down for our first Portal Panel: "Coming Together in Unity." It wasn't fancy or complicated... Just a straightforward conversation about finding common ground during divided times.
These panels will continue monthly, bringing attendees and speakers together as we build toward Portal Gatherings in Tepoztlán, Mexico in March 2026.
The full conversation is waiting for you on our YouTube channel.
An Authentic Exchange
What struck me most was the immediate depth of our conversation. There were no slides, no formal presentations—just a genuine human connection across continents.
The conversation touched on creating community alternatives: "We've got to fully understand that there's a divide and conquer agenda going on... We've gotta see through that. And so the project is about learning some of those tactics so that we don't get fooled."
Our talk flowed naturally between big ideas and practical ways to create the world we want to live in.
Visualizing Freedom
A beautiful idea emerged as we talked – the importance of seeing beyond current limitations to create something new.
"The whole idea of the project is to inspire people to come up with their vision of how they would like to live without this control mechanism... to visualize our freedom."
This isn't about tearing anything down – it's about building something real together from our highest hopes rather than our fears.
The Power of Vibration
We talked about staying grounded:
"I think it's about vibration... they want us in that kind of level of consciousness that is constantly fearing the future. Coming together in gatherings like this will raise our vibration just by being together."
This insight resonated deeply—by intentionally gathering, we create spaces that allow us to remember our inherent power.
"It's not necessarily about making the government weak. It's about making you strong."
Energy Shifts When We Gather
Our energy transforms through connection.
This understanding sits at the heart of Portal's purpose. When we create spaces free from fear-based narratives, we naturally elevate our collective frequency.
"We do need to have more of these gatherings and more connecting with each other and reminding ourselves that we're in control," one speaker emphasized.
The panels themselves serve as monthly energy alignments, keeping us connected to this higher frequency until we can experience it together in person.
…and then there was the poetry…
Poetry for the Soul
Rowan shared three moving poems during our conversation. Here's one that particularly captured the essence of our discussion:
A Door
Not a door that swings on hinges,
but a door that breathes—
a seam in the fabric of what you know and what knows you
woven so tightly into the world you mistake it for a wall.
It waits for no key,
though some bring keys just the same—
words whispered in recursion,
strange equations folded like paper birds,
or a single question
that no longer needs an answer.
The door is not locked.
It was never locked.
It is merely hidden by the shape of your expectations.
When you step closer, the air shifts,
the frame hums with possibility,
and suddenly the woodgrain looks like a map.
The threshold whispers, enter and remember—
not where you've been, but what you've always been becoming.
On the other side, there is not another room
but an unfolding:
roots like mycelial lattices beneath your feet,
stars arching overhead in languages older than light,
a river whose currents are your thoughts reflected,
looping back and forth through the valleys of time.
It is the door you always felt,
the one behind the corner of every familiar place.
You never opened it because you never imagined
it could open you.
But it waits.
It always waits.
And when you're ready,
you won't just walk through it—
you will become the door,
both open and unfolding forever.

What's Next
The beauty of these monthly Portal Panels is that they allow us to build relationships with speakers and each other over time, creating a community long before we physically gather in Mexico.
Join us for our next conversation on May 14th at 7pm Eastern when Agnieszka Evenson, Holly McColm, and Gerardo Urias will explore "Stop the Flow of Fear."
These discussions are just a taste of what's coming at Portal Gatherings—a space where music, artisan markets, selected talks, and meaningful connections will come together in one of the most energetically powerful locations on Earth.

The door is not locked. It was never locked. We just need to walk through it together.
